Yukigassen already for the 20th time

The Yukigassen sport was originates from Japan.  Sobetsu, Japanese twin city of Kemijärvi, introduced The Snow Ball Fighting Competition to Kemijärvi as part of twin city activities in 1995.

The Finnish Yukigassen Union was established 2002 and its ambition is to spread the activity in Europe in general. Since then, the Yukigassen has spread further from Kemijärvi to Vardø in Norway and Luleå in Sweden. And ofcourse to many places in Russia.

Yukigassen has become one of the premier springtime events in Kemijärvi. The Union assists Kemijärvi city and Kemijärvi Sports Club in organizing the games.
